Souk El Had
Rue 2 Mars, Agadir 80090, Morocco
The Agadir Mag take
Souk El Had works best as a morning visit—arrive by 10am and you’ll find most stalls open; after 6pm, vendors are shuttering fast. It’s genuinely huge, sprawling across multiple sections selling fresh produce, spices, textiles, touristy souvenirs, and used goods in no particular order. Prices are noticeably lower than Marrakech’s medina, and the sales pitch is gentler; vendors here aren’t working the same aggressive angle.
The atmosphere is the real draw. It feels lived-in rather than curated for Instagram. Fruit juice at the gates (20 MAD for fresh sugarcane or orange) is excellent value and made in front of you. Plenty of counterfeit goods circulate, especially clothing—buy accordingly. Free parking exists, though slip the attendant 10–20 MAD as custom. Go for the experience and to stock up on spices or basics, not expecting the theatrical drama of bigger souks.

Visiting Souk El Had was one of the highlights of my time in Agadir. The market is huge, lively, and full of color offering everything from fresh produce and local spices to handcrafted goods and beautiful souvenirs. What I loved most is the authentic atmosphere: friendly vendors, fair prices, and a real sense of Moroccan culture. It’s easy to spend hours here wandering between the stalls and discovering something new at every corner. A must-visit spot for anyone who wants to feel the true heartbeat of Agadir
Nice souk, I am used to the ones in Marrakech and this is nothing like it. A lot of the typical products were missing but we still found some good stuff. I believe the prices are lower than in Marrakech and the sellers don’t yell as much. The whole plave has a good atmosphere.
Definitely would recommend coming here but come early we came around 18:00 on a Wednesday and most of the shops were already closed. I woudl recommend this place just as an experience and the atmosphere. Most of the shops seem shady so don’t spend much money only what you’re comfortable with spending for fake stuff. We bought the fruit drinks at gate 6 I would recommend those for 20 dirham very nice and tasty made in front of your eyes. Also if you are a fan of cats you will find many here.
This place is massive and they sell just about everything both new and used. It's much like all souks so if you have seen one in Turkey or elsewhere you'll know what to expect. Snacks are very reasonable and the clothing on sale is priced mainly for tourists. Worth a visit.
This is one of the few places that we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The best spice stores as well as cologne and perfume stores. Everything was reasonable. The shopkeepers were not trying to freeze us. Handling was permitted excepted the stores that were already discounted and I had a phone policy of fixed price. We tried fresh sugarcane juice as well as orange juice. We got lots of souvenirs for friends and family back home. We really had a good time and enjoyed ourselves. Even the parking is free, it is better to give 10 or 20 dirhams to the gentleman who was watching your car. We got some traditional clothes also to wear as costumes to the parties.
