Taghazout Beach
PLAGE, Taghazout 80022, Morocco
The Agadir Mag take
Taghazout beach trades authenticity for upkeep. The water’s clear enough to spot fish, the golden sand is genuine, and sunset here actually works—which matters if you’re timing Instagram around your itinerary. Cafés like Rasta Pasta serve cheap tagines and coffee overlooking the break. Sun loungers rent for pocket change.
The catch: rubbish and animal waste show up regularly. Reviewers split on whether this matters. Some shrug; others found it impossible to ignore. Seller approaches are milder than Essaouira, but they’re there.
The surf itself is secondary. Taghazout’s beach serves small playful waves in October, but proper swells require a five-minute walk to Panorama. Hire boards locally rather than in Agadir—shorter carry, lower cost.
Getting here: inDrive bike (40 MAD one way) or minibus (10 MAD) from Agadir. Worth the trip if you want a working beach town rather than a manicured resort. Worth skipping if sand hygiene matters more than local character.

Pretty place to visit, but the beach is quite dirty with animal faeces and rubbish. A very popular place with plenty of tourists enjoying the bars, restaurants and the ocean!
Nothing too good, just another beach with some good views and dining options. I would recommend taking an indrive bike ride from agadir to taghazout to make it enjoyable, will set you back about 40 dh oneway. Or you can take a minibus for 10 dh one way.
We stayed right on Taghazout beach it was perfect for us nice clear waters can see the fish swimming close by… golden sands, sun loungers (rented) surf shops and cafe Rasta Pasta serving cheap food. You do get approached by sellers but I would say the least of all the places we been to things like camel rides, saffron, Tea or snacks. The sun sets on this beach. Surf isn’t really surf you walk to Panorama beach which is like 5min. If you hire in Taghazout it’s cheaper just bear in mind you have to carry it a short while. There is small waves to play in may change with the seasons in October it was small but fun.
This place has a great vibe, which is unfortunately ruined by the trash. It could be a 10/10 place, but unfortunately. Maybe if I surfed, I would rate it higher. Ps. They say all sewers lead to the sea.☠️
With complete honesty, Taghazout is not just a beautiful beach destination — it’s a place with its own special charm, balancing simplicity, nature, and the authentic Moroccan spirit. It possesses remarkable tourism potential that makes it one of Morocco’s most promising coastal destinations. However, despite the genuine local efforts, they remain limited compared to the vast possibilities the village holds. It would be wonderful if local authorities and tourism stakeholders paid more attention to improving public facilities, infrastructure, cleanliness, and health services — while at the same time preserving the cultural and traditional identity that gives Taghazout its true magic. During my personal visit, I was amazed by the number of foreign visitors who come every year and by the creativity of the locals in promoting their village in such a humble yet inspiring way. My stay there was an unforgettable experience, full of serenity and meaningful encounters.
