The Agadir Mag take

Camel’s trades on beachfront location and live music—both genuine draws on a Friday night. The tagine and royal couscous get consistent praise; portions are generous, service usually attentive without hovering. Meat quality splits opinion: one diner found it overdone and tough, another had no complaint. The sunset view is real.

But a serious complaint demands mention. A British-Indian couple reported discriminatory questioning about religion and ethnicity before being served alcohol, with management defending the practice based on the husband’s appearance. Other reviewers encountered no such issues at competing venues. This isn’t a ambiguous review—it’s an account of racial profiling documented in detail. The 4.1 rating masks something the numbers don’t capture. Worth knowing before you book.

Highly recommend for dinner we went on a Friday night it was busy, food, tagine and couscous and drinks were great! They also had a live music band which was the perfect atmosphere for us. Waitress was so lovely and offered great service even though they were busy!

Meat was slightly overdone and tough, portions are massive. Service is friendly and welcoming. Would come back, only negatives are the overdone meat, the close proximity of smokers and the menus needing renewing or wiping down more regularly ( Probably have never been wiped ) Great sunset view

We drank in here a couple of times before coming for the food and it's only as we saw people being served that made us want to eat there. Hubby saw someone being served the royal royal couscous and was determined to have it. He was not disappointed, he really enjoyed it! I had the kofta tagine and it was really lovely. The waiters there had seen us go in for drinks and so we're happy to have us eat there. They were very attentive but not in your face. We'd definitely visit again.

Me & my husband (married for 37yrs) walked in there at 8pm, as the atmosphere looked great & they had a live singer. I’’m white British & my husband is of an Indian descent. As we ordered for 2 beers - the waiter had no problems, although he came 2mins later & said to my husband ‘My manager has asked me what religion you are & which country you come from, before we serve you alcohol, but your wife is ok to drink’. Reluctantly I answered him that we are from UK, but we are atheists - although I was fuming by this time & wanted to leave immediately. However the beers came along & we didn’t think that much of making a fuss in a foreign country & we just wanted to enjoy the rest of the evening/holiday. As we were about to leave, I asked for the Manager, who said ‘it’s because your husband is of a different colour, we had to ask him a question in case he was an Arabic Muslim’. I was astonished & asked him- ‘How do you know if me & the other 100 white people in here are not Arabic Muslims?. Once again to our surprise he casually said ‘it’s because of his colour’. Please be careful & wary, even In 2026 at a tourist resort - these things do happen in what we thought was a fun place & environment. Just following that example, my recommendation would be not to go to this place, if you believe in morality & diversity. I love my husband so much & although he’s not a wimp, he stayed quiet because of me & I really felt for him. We went to some other bars & had no problems & got drunk to enjoy the rest the night by having a boogies & forget about our terrible experience at this restaurant. We are all god’s creatures & should love & respect each other - regardless of our religion, colour & gender.

Amazing place. Good food and amazing live music. If you are looking for a place where to have your dinner, consider this one. They have everithing from starters to dessert, and all of them taste amazing, from traditional marroccan food to European food. Overall well deserves 5 stars.
