Restaurant Al Walima
Jardin Lalla Meryem, Bloc 1, N 9, Rue Rue de Marrakech, Agadir 80000, Morocco
The Agadir Mag take
Al Walima pulls off something harder than it sounds: it cooks Moroccan food without the hedging. Reviewers are consistent about two things—authentic beldi technique and portions that don’t insult you—and that consistency matters. The lamb tajine appears across multiple reviews unprompted, which usually means something’s genuinely worth ordering. One diner got served the wrong couscous and chose not to wait rather than stay hungry; staff handled it well, but the portion size complaint there (one piece of meat) suggests the Royal might be the outlier, not the standard.
Pricing stays vague in official listings, but reviews call it reasonable and competitive—the menu du jour gets specific praise for value. The aubergine dip and desserts (crème caramel, cheesecake) land well enough that people mention them. Jardin Lalla Meryem location is calm. Three thousand kilometres of Moroccan tourists probably don’t end up here by accident, which is often the point.

Been to a fair few places on my trip to Agadir and I can not rate Al Walima highly enough. Lovely service, VERY reasonable pricing, and the food is absolutely spot on. Will definitely visit if I visit Agadir again. Delicious. Thanks guys ❤️
One of my favorite restaurants in Agadir for authentic Moroccan beldi dishes. I’ve tried many options, and this one really stands out. I also love the menu du jour … it combines several dishes at a very good price.
good but not great .. I visited this restaurant after reading several good reviews, so my expectations were a bit high. The place is clean, comfortable, and has a nice atmosphere. I ordered the Royal Couscous, but there was a small mix-up and I was served the meat couscous instead. The staff were polite and offered to change it, which I appreciated, but I chose not to wait as I was quite hungry. The food overall was okay and nicely presented, although the portion size was a bit small just one piece of meat . In general, it’s a pleasant place with friendly service, but there’s some room for improvement to fully meet expectations.
Al Walima is hands down the best place for traditional Moroccan food in Agadir. The food was absolutely bouncing with flavour — rich, authentic, and clearly cooked with care. Every dish tasted genuinely homemade, not watered down for tourists. This is real Moroccan cooking, done properly. Portions were generous, the ingredients were fresh, and the prices were fantastic and very competitive for the quality you get. Incredible value for money. If you want to experience the best traditional Moroccan food in Agadir, this is the place. Warm atmosphere, honest food, and flavours that stay with you. Highly recommended — I would come back again and again.
We had such a great experience at Restaurant Al Walima! The guy who helped us was super friendly and kind. We both ordered the lamb tajine, one with rice and one with fries and honestly, it was the best tajine we’ve had in Agadir, after trying five different places. We started with the aubergine dip, which was really tasty, and for dessert we had crème caramel and cheesecake, both tasted super nice. If you’re looking for a place with really flavorful Moroccan tajine, this is the one. For us, it’s seriously the best in Agadir. We’re already planning to come back tomorrow!
