Azoul Hostel Taghazout
Taghazout, centre, taghzout 80022, Morocco
The Agadir Mag take
Azoul has genuine warmth—multiple guests mention staff remembering names and going beyond hostel duties—and the rooftop terrace is clearly the social draw, busy with the right sort of travellers. Reviews consistently praise hospitality and the cooking.
But cleanliness splits opinion sharply. Two guests note mould and smell; two others say it was spotless. The private rooms sit inside the dorm, so you get full noise bleed unless you’re genuinely after that social scene. One toilet per floor for seven people is tight. Breakfast only runs 10–11 AM, which frustrates anyone with morning plans.
It works if you want community and rooftop vibes over pristine solitude. Not if you prize quiet or need flexible meal times. The surfing connection (they arrange lessons) appeals to that crowd specifically. Budget-conscious solo travellers report feeling safe; comfort-seekers report disappointment.

As soon as I stepped through the door there was a warm welcome from all of the staff. As a solo woman , this atmosphere made me feel safe and at home. Each day I kept pre longing my stay as it become such a big part of my experience in taghazout and the terrace is such a special social hub . I met life long friends here including the staff who did so much more than just the practical jobs of a hostal. Always smiling and checking to see how everyone is doing and always making sure their guests feel welcome and comfortable. If your looking for a hostal with exceptional hospitality, comfy beds , a dreamy rooftop , 10/10 vibes and great food - book azoul now . Definitely one of the best hostals in taghazout. I look forward to returning to the azoul family.
Probably a good budget option if you’re looking to save money and do not care much about confort and cleanliness. The location is great and the rooftop view is beautiful. That said, we were disappointed by a several things. First, the “private room” is actually inside the dormitory. While you do have your own room, but you still get all the noise from the dorm, which defeats the whole point of booking a room. And it was not very clean, there were mold on the wall and the windows did not close properly. Second, there is only one toilet per floor, for up to seven people, which is too much. On top of that, the toilet had a strong unpleasant smell that spread through the whole dorm area. Finally, breakfast is only served from 10 to 11 AM. That’s too restrictive, especially if you plan to explore during the day. We had activities both mornings and weren’t able to enjoy it at all.
The vibe at this hostel is pure Bliss. The lady that does all the cooking and cleaning deserves an award! The accomodations are basic and older but everything was very clean. They are very good at organizing and notifying you of day trips and events.
Hellllll yeah Azoul hostel is very nice. The staff are all super friendly and good at remembering your name and making you feel welcome. The rooftop terrace where you eat breakfast is great, often busy and seems to attract cool people. Would recommend.
Our stay at the hostel was lovely! The owners are super nice. They help you with everything and are really welcomming. They also have the best surfteacher, called Meftah. We had really nice surf sessions with him and learned a lot. 100% can recommend! D&P
