The Agadir Mag take

Locals Taghazout sits at the centre of the village, close enough to the beach to make it the obvious choice if you’re here to surf. The rooftop draws praise—decent food, genuine atmosphere, the kind of place where you’d actually want to spend an evening rather than just eat and leave. Momo, the main surf instructor, appears genuinely skilled and popular with guests. Rooms are clean, wifi functional, breakfast acceptable.

One serious concern: a 1-star review from 2024 alleges a male staff member entered a female dorm uninvited late at night, against explicit refusal. The account is detailed and credible. The Google rating (4.4 from 109 reviews) doesn’t reflect this incident, suggesting it may not be widely known. Worth asking directly about safety protocols in female dorms before booking, particularly if you’re a solo woman traveller.

Very concerning experience I am writing this review on behalf of both myself and my friend. We stayed here for a few nights while visiting Taghazout for surfing. We are both young travelers. I stayed in a mixed dorm room, while my friend stayed in a female dorm. On the third night, the other guests in her (only female) dorm checked out, leaving her alone in the room. She was not feeling well and stayed in the room during the evening. At around 9:00 PM, the male receptionist entered the female dorm, sat down on the bed next to her, and began asking uncomfortable questions, such as whether she was traveling alone and if she was afraid to sleep in the room by herself. He then said that he could sleep in the bed next to her so that she would not be alone at night, because she didn’t feel well. She clearly told him that she did not want that. However, later that night, around 11:30 PM, the same staff member returned to the room with his backpack and appeared to be planning to sleep there. At that point my friend contacted me and asked me to come immediately. She ended up staying in my dorm room for the rest of the night, and we checked out the following day. Situations like this should never happen. One of the main reasons travelers book a female dorm room is to feel safe and avoid exactly this kind of situation. This experience was extremely inappropriate and unacceptable Edit: You are right. There is no mixed dorms. I just saw that. I stayed in a only male dorm*

We absolutely loved staying at Locals Taghazout Surfcamp and we highly recommend it. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The rooftop is amazing, with a great vibe and the food is delicious. The staff are extremely kind, helpful, and welcoming. All the activities are great, especially surfing. We had such a great time with Momo, our surf instructor, he’s very friendly and made the experience so much fun. This place made our experience in Taghazout truly amazing, and we will definitely come back :)
